Medical Anthropology
Medical Anthropology draws on both biological and social anthropology to address issues surrounding human health and disease. A distinct subfield, studies include the co-evolution of humans and diseases, human ecology, cultural constructions of health and illness, cultural approaches to medicine, and the political economy of health. Stigma and embodiment are fundamental concepts in exploring the biosocial nature of illness.
